Quality Assurance Space Inspector 

Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented individual to perform quality inspection activities in a fast-paced advanced technology environment. This individual will work under the guidance of the company Quality Manager.

The ideal candidate will have a high school degree or equivalent and at least 3+ year’s recent quality experience in a space production environment. They will have practical experience working within Quality Management Systems (AS9100 and ISO 9001) and have in-depth knowledge of IPC-610 and IPC J-STD-001 standards. A current IPC J-STD-001 and IPC-610 certification is a plus. We are looking for a technically savvy and trustworthy individual, with an exceptional ability to multi-task and support companywide activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Reviews and approves incoming materials and documentation by confirming specifications, reviewing CofC, FAI, inspection reports, test reports, conducting visual and measurement tests, rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.
  • Performs complete layout inspection by locating reference points and measuring dimensions using precision instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and/or dial indicator to ensure product meets specifications.
  • Performs and documents first article inspections using AS9102 forms.
  • Performs inspection and verification on incoming, in-process and outgoing products.
  • Visually compares work products against one another to assess/detect manufacturing variations.
  • Reports quality problems or findings to the Quality Manager and follows up to ensure that corrective action has/will take place.
  • Maintains record of inspections and list of defects.
  • Performs source inspection at suppliers as ESI Motion representative on behalf of Quality Manager when required.
  • Acts as a liaison between suppliers and customers to address any quality issues during supplier source inspections.

Senior Quality Engineer

Description:

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented individual to perform quality engineering activities in a fast-paced, advanced technology environment.

This individual will work under the guidance of the company Quality Manager. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of Quality Management Systems (AS9100D/ISO9001:2015) in addition to 3rd party audit, supplier audit and internal auditing experience. It is preferred that the candidate has practical experience or basic knowledge of IPC-610-A and IPC J-STD-001 standards as well as space product handling knowledge.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform closed-loop corrective action and root cause analysis.
  • Assemble and review end-item data packages for submittal to customers.
  • Performs and documents first article inspections per AS9102B.
  • Review and approve supplier first article inspection reports per AS9102B.
  • Responsible for product and data presentation for final customer acceptance.
  • Lead internal MRB activities and meetings with cross functional teams to conduct robust RCCA.
  • Document and resolve non-conforming material issues from internal rejections and for supplier rejections.
  • Document and resolve customer RMA issues.
  • Supports QA manager with Quality Management Review by performing and providing data analysis, trend analysis and ensuring data accuracy and calculations for KPI metrics.
  • Technical writing skills that include quality management system processes and procedures.
  • Identifies and drives process improvement initiatives to completion.
  • Performs internal and supplier audits on product, process, and system to verify effectiveness and validate corrective actions that were taken.
  • Review quality requirements of contracts, PO’s, and amendments to awarded contracts, and identify any unique customer requirements for workmanship or traceability.
  • Maintains all quality records per ESI Motion SOP.
  • Support and execute any other task given by Quality Manager.

    Sr. Mechanical Engineer

    Job Description: The mechanical Engineer’s role is to apply knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling and materials for strategic projects and embedded hardware platforms. This individual will work under the guidance of the company President and Director of Engineering and in collaboration with other engineering areas.

    Essential Functions:

    • Perform basic electrical engineering concepts and electronics packaging techniques
    • Creation of 3 dimensional modeling using Solidworks
    • Creation of detailed assembly and fabricated drawings
    • Successful use of manufacturing methods, procedures and processes
    • Continuous improvement of manufacturing documentation processes
    • Interface with customers
    • Collaboration with production to transition products from development
    • Planning, managing and execution of multiple design activities while maintaining quality, cost and scheduling requirements

    Finance Manager

    Description:

    Looking for a talented, driven and experienced individual to lead finance and budgetary activities and drive adherence to appropriate accounting standards. This individual will work under the guidance of the company President.

    The Finance Manager is a key member of the organization, providing analytical support for leadership of key functional areas within ESI. This position involves establishing and maintaining working relationships with business partners, and supporting management with analysis and reporting to help support and accelerate rapid growth.

    Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for ongoing review and reporting of sales and margins of the programs
    • Partner with the management team build forecasts and annual budgets
    • Support preparation of the strategic 5-year plan
    • Support all weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reporting requirements
    • Support headcount forecasting and reporting
    • Lead all EAC analysis and ETC completion processes with program management team
    • Run all month end GM analytics and costing processes
    • Conduct variance analysis based on actuals, spend plans, and trends and partner with leadership team to identify issues and opportunities
    • Prepare and analyze weekly / monthly reports for management team
    • Prepare monthly cost reports in accordance with contract requirements on specific contracts
    • Assist with month end close duties including preparation and reconciliation of journal entries

    Director of Finance

    As the Director of Finance, you will drive effective financial execution through superior leadership and hands-on analytics. This position requires a builder who maintains drive through establishing effective business infrastructure that contributes to accurate financial forecasting. This position requires exceptional interpersonal and collaboration skills as you will be required to facilitate various financial forecasts and inputs.

    Responsibilities:

    • Financial leadership and accountability including performance management of the business, establishment and maintenance of internal controls, policy compliance and effective financial input into key strategic initiatives.
    • Partnering with leaders to drive behaviors and actions that achieve financial objectives and business goals.
    • Drives cash management across the company, establishing standardization and directs budget preparation and forecast updates in accordance with GAAP.
    • Demonstrate strong business acumen and understanding of key business priorities facing the organization, understand challenges, perspectives, and potential impact of decisions.
    • Perform detailed financial analysis, define and understand variances to budget baseline and EAC positions and support man-power forecasts.
    • Conduct product line profitability analysis and identify cost reduction initiatives.
    • Leads business activities to improve performance, margins, costs, EACs, forecast accuracy and drive return on investments.
    • Generates forecasts and analyzes trends in finance, operations, supply chain and other areas of the business for financial and strategic planning purposes.
    • Establishes strategies for financial analysis, insight, research and forecasts to support long-term financial goals and strategic decisions.

    Director of Engineering 

    Description:

    ESI Motion is looking for a driven and experienced individual to lead our Engineering department in a fast-paced advanced technology environment.

    The ideal candidate will have completed a 4-year Bachelor’s degree with an Engineering discipline and have at least 10 year’s recent experience in an Aerospace, Defense or Space organization with a minimum of 3 years’ experience as an Engineering Manager.  Must be an intelligent, organized and a trustworthy individual, with an exceptional ability to lead and support engineering activities.

    Responsibilities:

    • Lead engineering in the execution and delivery of multiple aerospace, space, military, and commercial programs
    • Oversee and execute all technical aspects to meet program requirements, schedule, and budget targets
    • Provide technical and management leadership for successful delivery of development programs, including new product development, product customizations and modification efforts
    • Plans directs and manages all phases of program engineering including activities from design, design reviews, engineering analysis, test procedures, root cause troubleshooting, failure reports, testing, integrations, and client support
    • Plans, directs and manages all engineering disciplines including electrical design, mechanical design, software development, and system engineering
    • Responsible for execution of and adherence to program requirements, schedule and budget targets and successful delivery of program deliverables
    • Manage department activities to satisfy contractual deliverables
    • Monitor program scope, action and risk items
    • Negotiate contracts for new programs, program modifications, and scope change requests
    • Provide, requirements flow-down, technical risk assessments and risk reduction activities

    • Oversee compliance certification initiatives, including successful completion of DO-178 and DO-254 certifications
    • Participate in understanding, implementing and maintaining the company quality policy in accordance with AS9100 and / or ISO9001
    • Ensure department adherence to company human resource management policies and procedures
    • Lead monthly Program Management Reviews (PMRs) and quarterly Quality Management Reviews (QMRs)
    • Support development of company strategic vision and initiatives and participate in tactical and strategic company meetings
    • Ensure success of company-wide continuous process improvement activities and monitoring of adherence and execution of effective quality policies, procedures and work instructions
    • Support new and existing business development, proposal and quoting submissions

    Electrical Engineer

    Description:

    Looking for a talented and experienced individual to conduct design, system integration, troubleshooting and testing activities for strategic projects and embedded hardware platforms. This individual will work under the guidance of the company President and Director of Engineering and in collaboration with other engineering areas.

    The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor or Master degree in Electrical Engineering or other related Engineering discipline, and 5+ years recent experience in hands-on development.

    Program Manager

    ESI is a technology leader in cutting-edge servo motor control technology for extreme environments.  Specializing in designing and manufacturing rugged, high performance motor control products for industrial, military, aviation, robotics, and energy markets.

    Looking for a driven and experienced individual to lead programs, establish and maintain rapport with clients, and support sales proposals.  This person will be a key role in our organization with great upward potential, and will work directly under the Director of Program Development and in collaboration with other company departments.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    Responsible for program leadership resulting in successful task execution in accordance with the schedule, contract, budget, Statement of Work and technical specifications.

    Program Execution:

    • Acts as primary customer contact for program activities,
    • Lead Program Team members within the organization to drive the execution
    • Provides exceptional customer service and support to customers by ensuring performance and contractual commitments are met
    • Presents customer briefings of progress, issues, risks and solution approaches; interacts with key technical personnel to coordinate and give direction to briefings
    • Communicating with clients, sponsors, vendors, and project stakeholders effectively
    • Coordinating and prioritizing internal resources to ensure timely delivery
    • Interacts with internal personnel and external customers in all matters including technical, contracts, finance, accounting and procurement
    • Coordinating multiple programs and driving programs to on-time delivery
    • Collaborates with Contracts, Engineering, Manufacturing Operations, and Supplier Management in the execution of programs
    • Manages program subcontract, consultant and material performance
      • Creating action and risk logs and driving actions to completion
    • Provides time-phased need for employee and equipment resources through different phases of the program
    • Risk management and escalation in-time for stakeholder impacts and decision making
    • Managing budgets for cost plus and firm fixed price contracts
